Yorkshire Karate Championships

The Yorkshire Karate Championships are held 3 times a year at the Rothwell Leisure Centre near junction 30 of the M62 The competition attracts the best competitors from all over Yorkshire to compete in both Semi Contact Kumate and Kata.

WKC World Championships

The World Karate Council has just started holding an annual world championship. The first of which was held in Dublin, Ireland. Phoenix Karate Association were represented there by Ray McKenzie, Ryan Haden and Kieran Haden.

WKA National Championships

The World Karate Association holds national competitions at the George H Carnall Sports Centre near junction 9 of the M60. The competitions are open to all competitors and are often used for selecting the England national team for the WKA World Championships.

WKA World Championships

The World Karate Association holds an international competition every year. The location changes every year, but recent years have seen the competition held in Germany, Spain and America. This is a closed competition that is available via qualification at the England National Open Championships. Please see the WKA website for more information.
