November 2009 - WKC World Championships

WKC World Championships 2009 In November 2009, 3 fighters from the Phoenix Karate Association competed in the 2009 WKC World Championships in Dublin, Ireland, where they faced top fighters from around the world. Find out how they performed.


April 2009 - Yorkshire Karate Championships

Yorkshire Karate Championships The Phoenix Karate Association was represented at the Yorkshire Karate Championships in Rothwell on the 12th of April, where Rob Lyons was awarded a bronze medal for coming 3rd in the 85K+ Kumate.



March 2009 - Black Belt Grading Results

Black Belt Grading The Phoenix Karate Association held a black belt grading at the training session in Slaithwaite on 29th March 2009. The standard of the students was very high, Mathew Hepplestone & Rob Lyons both earned their 1st Dan black belts, with Jack Pearl achieving the grade of 1st Kyu.



February 2009 - New Website Launched

EagleSoft Solutions Ltd The Phoenix Karate Association Website has been completely redeveloped by EagleSoft Solutions Ltd. EagleSoft have incorporated a full new design and added lots more content.



November 2008 - World Championship Gold and Silver for Phoenix

Ray with medals In November 2008 Phoenix instructors Ray McKenzie and Trevor Felix were invited to compete in the World Karate Association World Championships, held in Florida, USA. Both Ray and Trevor were on top form, securing an all Phoenix final in the +85k Karate Kumite, where Ray took the gold and Trevor won silver. Ray also won a silver medal in the +90k Karate Kumite.



August 2007 - Trevor Felix Crowned World Champion

Trevor Felix In August 2007 Phoenix instructor Trevor Felix was invited to compete in the World Karate Association World Championships, held in Germany. Trevor, who teaches a Phoenix class in Birkby on Friday evenings, competed in the Men's Veteran Over 85K category, where he gained a Silver Medal in the Semi Contact Kumite, and a Gold Medal in the Traditional Kumite to become world Champion.
